Belated Happy Easter to you all.
Both Le Breton boys have a chocolate allergy, awwwww.
It's a thing of nightmares to many of my friends (mainly my female friends), "not able to eat chocolate, how awful, I couldn't cope with that" are the usual comments.
But before you start to feel sorry for them, they have once again managed to do very well out of their Easter allergy.
I gave up buying them carob eggs a long time ago, as they didn’t really like them. I did go through a phase of making my own carob eggs for them, but Luke hasn’t got a sweet tooth (never has) and Jack said he could take them or leave them. So it was all a bit of a faff when they really didn’t care if they got them or not. I think in the end I melted them down to use in carob brownies which they & their friends wolfed down. A much better use of my time.
The boys have done a pretty good job over the years of exploiting the guilt glands of various relatives & now in lieu of Easter eggs they get cash – a lot of cash. Personally, I think they get a far better deal this way around and so do they.
The Easter holidays started early here as Luke brought a bug home from college and had the last few days of term off. Being the kindly soul he is, he practiced sharing with me. In case there is any doubt it is the bugs that he shared with me, not the Easter cash.
As I am now housebound due to the double whammy of grim weather & the germies, I’ve been trying to use the time productively by building in some extras into the website and so far failing miserably. Undeterred I shall carry on, if I wasn’t defeated by gfcf baking, I wont let my technical inability get the better of me.
On a more productive note, I have been experimenting with various different raising agents and also with different types of sugars (all natural, naturally!) with great success. So expect more recipes very soon. Well as soon as I get the ‘bells & whistles’ additions to the site up & running.
Happy & healthy holiday to you all.
